Big Earthquake and Huge Tusnami Occuerred in Japan

On Friday March 11, big quake struck Tohoku and Kanto area (including Tokyo) in Japan and huge tunami attacked Tohoku area.

I was working at Yoyogi, Tokyo when the Tohoku Kanto Daishinsai (big quake) occurred. I felt big sharking, felt fear and got really worried about my blind Doxie Nono who was at home alone. All trains stopped those service. So I had to walk to my home. Cell-phone went dead and I couldn’t contact my husband. I kept on walking praying for Nono’s safe. Finally, I walked for 7 hours to get home. My feet were killing me but I struggled back to my home and then could see Nono. There is nothing unusual in my home and she was, just hugry, fine. And my husband got back home soon. I wasreally relieved.

I feel blessed that my family and home are safe. By the big earthquake and following huge tsunami, more than 17,000 people died and are still disapperance, and more than 450,000 people are taking shelter today. More than 60,000 houses have collapsed.

Quake (aftershock) still occurs. I feel shaking very often. There are scheduled blackouts in Kanto area (Tokyo, Kanagawa (I live in), Chiba, Saitama, Gumma, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Yamanashi and Shizuoka) everyday and those disrupt the transportation. Nuclear accidents occur. The situation seems to get worse.

Japan faces a tough time.

But we’re encouraged by thoughtful messages from all over the world. Also I personally got many thoghtful messages from overseas friends on twitter and facebook. And many countries supports help us. Disaster-relief teams (including dogs) from other countries arrived and started rescue work.

I really appreciate kindly friends, the countries, those government and people, and pray for disaster-relief teams’ safely.

Thank you so much. I try to keep positive thoughts.
